Invest In Golf's Future
The Michigan Golf Course Owners Association is a
non-profit association whose purpose is to promote and preserve
the best interest of the private sector of the Michigan
golf course industry. The Michigan Golf Course Owners Association's
goal is to monitor and influence state political activity
and legislation that will affect the private sector of the
golf course industry; to promote the use of private sector
courses; and to train, educate and develop the Michigan
golf course owner.
I have just presented the Mission Statement and Statement
of Goals for the Michigan Golf Course Owners Association.
Those of you who are members know that the organization
is one of the leaders in the golf industry in Michigan.
Membership in the MGCOA provides you with numerous benefits
such as: the Michigan Golf League Championship; corporate
sponsorships that not only save you money on goods and services
you need for your facilities, but who also pay for various
educational and social events throughout the year; a Political
Action Committee who is monitoring the turbulent political
climate in Michigan; an Annual Conference that provides
you with a host of the best educators in the golf industry;
access to educational and statistical information that can
enhance your business and a team of dedicated staff members
and officers who are looking out for your best interests
in the golf industry.
The above mentioned programs and initiatives are just a
few of the benefits of membership. It pays to belong to
associations who can do things for you and fight on your
behalf and the MGCOA does just that. The association has
grown tremendously in the last five years. We are making
a difference and we want to keep making a difference, but
we need your help. We need even more golf courses to join
our organization and we need our current members to pay
their dues on time. The MGCOA is like any other business
and has bills to pay and payrolls to make so it is critical
that you pay your dues in a timely fashion so that the organization
can continue to run in an efficient manner. Please realize
that your payment is an investment in the future of golf
in Michigan. I do not have to tell any of you how difficult
things have been in the golf industry in Michigan and the
country in general. We are fighting for you and we need
your continued support.
Dues billings were sent out in December. It is now spring
and our facilities are up and running so make sure to pay
your investment to the MGCOA. It will be well worth it.
